Athena is a second year Physics student at the University of Manchester. As a neurodiverse student she has embraced the unique perspective her experience brings to her studies, excelling particularly in data analytics and lab work. Outside of academia, she channels her creativity and focus into bouldering and painting. Athena is passionate about demonstrating that neurodiversity is a strength in innovative thinking and looks forward to applying it in her future career.

Delcy Gandhi

Delcy is a Finance student at the University of Warwick with a curiosity for how businesses grow and make big decisions. She enjoys working with startups and entrepreneurial teams, learning to navigate new and often unclear challenges. Outside academics, Delcy is usually dancing, getting lost in a good book, baking desserts, or hunting down the best cafés in town.

Architecture

Ayub is an architecture student at the University of Westminster. He is also a member of the Mayor's Fund for London Youth Board and an Architects Declare Next Gen Ambassador. Ayub is interested in sustainability and how we can contribute to a greener planet through the Built Environment and hopes to do work addressing this in the future. He applied to the Undergraduate of the Year Award as he wanted to share his story and was really interested in the opportunity to work for CBRE.

Alongside University, she serves as Client Director at 180Degrees Consulting Liverpool, leading student teams to deliver projects that create real impact for charities. She is committed to developing her professional skills and making a tangible difference. Seriena applied for this award to inspire others to believe their future is not limited by where they start.

Through teaching coding and robotics, sports leadership, and committee roles, he excels at teamwork, adaptability, and mentoring others. He applied for the award to connect with a community of innovators who value both technical excellence and social responsibility.

Datis is a student at St Catharine's College, at the University of Cambridge, studying Engineering. He is extremely interested in semiconductor technologies, all the way from processor architectures to transistor design. Datis enjoys how semiconductor engineering combines materials science, physics, and electrical engineering. In his free time, he enjoys indoor bouldering, rowing, running, and archery, alongside his academic endeavours.

Alexandra Bykova

Alexandra is an Economics student at King's College London, keen on building a career in finance. She was raised in a multicultural environment and attended both an English and a French school whilst living in Spain; this is how she became fluent in 5 languages! Alexandra’s primary interests beyond finance are ballet and running and she recently completed her first half marathon. She applied to this award as being multilingual has always been a part of who she is, and it would be especially interesting to see how that can be applied to global markets and data.

Abigail is a Business Management student at Manchester Metropolitan University, currently undertaking a HR placement year. She is a people-oriented, outgoing and ambitious individual who thrives on building connections and supporting others. Outside of work Abigail enjoys going to the gym and seeing live music with a margarita … or two! She applied for this award to further develop her skills, recognise her growth, and continue making a positive impact both academically and professionally.

Paddy is a fourth-year medical student with a strong passion for sport, resilience, and mental health advocacy. Alongside his studies, he has competed in numerous Ironman triathlons and ultramarathon races. Over the last 15 months he has launched and grown Check in on a mate, a mental health charity focused on raising awareness for mental health and suicide prevention through the medium of sports. Through medicine, sport, and advocacy, Paddy aims to make a positive and lasting impact within the world.

Cecily Luther

Cecily is a second-year law student at the University of Southampton, passionate about legal innovation and utilising the law to proactively increase access to justice. Through her pro bono work at the Global Legal Clinic, where she is a committee member, student advisor and McKenzie friend she has developed an adaptable, collaborative and client-focused approach, which the award recognises and celebrates. Recent experience includes legal research projects for global animal-rights organisations, assisting litigants in person in court, and legal drafting for a legal AI company, alongside working as a M&A Analyst, Course Representative, BPP Campus Ambassador and Law School Mentor.

Olaide is a third-year Chemistry student at the University of Warwick, with a strong interest in energy and materials, and a passion for sustainability, entrepreneurship and making a difference. Alongside her degree, she leads Enactus Pathways, a social enterprise coordinating over 30 volunteers at a primary school in Coventry. She is excited to build a career in insurance, where she can put her enthusiasm for analytical thinking, client relationships, and positive change into practice.

Siobhain Doyle
Chemical Engineering with Placement Year

Siobhain is a fourth-year Chemical Engineering student at the University of Bath, currently on placement working on energy transition projects including sustainable aviation fuel and power-to-X. Alongside her studies, she was recognised as the top Academic Representative in the Faculty of Engineering and served as Vice Chair of the Chemical Engineering Society. She has represented Malaysia internationally in triathlon and track, and is a BUCS Division 1 Women’s Basketball (W1s) player.

Emily is an MEng Design Engineering student at Imperial College London and developed technical breadth through defence focused analytical modelling during her most recent placement. Outside her academic studies, she enjoys contributing to the mechanical redesign of Imperial’s student rover through the Imperial Planetary Robotics Lab, strengthening both her systems level reasoning and hands on engineering capability.

Chloe Lowin

Chloe is a Psychology graduate and trainee educator who transitioned from administrative work into teaching and now research, driven by a commitment to social impact. She is currently completing a Master’s in Criminology, where her research explores violence against women and girls, institutional responses, and neurodivergence. Chloe draws on both academic and lived experience to challenge systemic barriers and aims to progress to doctoral study this year, with the goal of influencing policy and improving support for those often overlooked within existing systems.

Abhinav Tavva

Last summer Abhinav, focused on a problem with school filters that every student recognises: the "Website Blocked" screen. He developed an AI-driven system that understands context and intent, ensuring students can access educational resources safely and without frustration. As a Computer Science student, he applied for this award to demonstrate how AI can modernise stagnant infrastructure and improve digital accessibility for every student.

Valerie Fiamavle
Medicine

Queen's University Belfast
Valerie is a third-year medical student at Queen's University Belfast, Intercalating at Imperial College London, where she is studying iBSC Management. With a strong commitment to leadership and innovation, she serves as Social Media Officer for Melanin Medics, where she has significantly increased engagement and widened access to opportunities for aspiring Black medical students. As the former President of her university’s African Caribbean Society, she led high-impact initiatives that led to increasing the society's revenue by 700% and established long-standing traditions. Valerie is also a content creator, using her platforms to empower students.
